The Paradox of Innovation
We all understand the importance of innovation to our organisations and its relevance to the survival and growth of businesses. However, organisations continue to grapple with achieving effective management of this complex business process. It's all very well saying 'we shall be more innovative' and 'innovation is one of our core values' or any of the other platitudes that one finds in mission statements and strategies: the problem is putting it into action. There are a number of paradoxes between traditional management targets and processes versus the targets and systems needed for effective innovation management.
In this workshop Peter Hiscocks, Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Cambridge Judge Business School, will explore some of these paradoxes and will recommend some key innovation approaches that will enable organisations to become more effective in their management of this key business process.
